Travel Day
Hello all and welcome back to my travel blog!
The year is 2024 and this is our first trip of many to India. The plan is to tour Bangalore, Jaipur and Goa, and I look forward to bringing you on our journey. In the lead up to this trip, we've had a few ups & downs, and since we booked this trip a good 6 months ago, I feel like we've been talking about it for so long you might be thinking "oh just go already!". Since booking, we've sold our house in Cambridge St and just received the keys to our new house in Denison St. We said a sad goodbye to Aunty Pusspa who passed after a short sickness into his older age. We've been living with Bronwyn for 9 weeks now while we've been moving which has been really lovely, but we're all ready for us to get out and get going!
We were surprised with a lovely points upgrade to Business Class so got up early and checked ourselves in at the airport. What a joy to not have to use my height to make a last minute seperate attempt to get an exit row. We had breakfast in the lounge and then made our way down to hop on the plane. Ethan looked so small in his huge seat. A lot of leg room for someone with very little legs. For me though, it was heaven. We all had a little nap on the flight but since it was a day flight we mostly just watched a bunch of movies or played games with Ethan. Time went pretty fast and by 9pm Sydney time we'd landed early afternoon in Bangalore. Then we hopped in the car for the short 13km drive to The Leela Palace which took almost 2hrs! Pavan had warned us of the traffic but it was next level. For no reason it just stops, and then 10min later you're going freeway speed. By the time we got into our room it was almost midnight for Ethan and he did so well to stay awake as long as he did. He's such a good traveller, barely any whinging or tantrum or anything. It made a very smooth travel day.
But an early night for us, as we're all pretty shattered. We can explore in the morning. Happy reading!
